Attendance at least two editions of the Doctoral School Day (JED) is mandatory during your PhD, including one participation with a presentation (oral or poster).

Registration

To begin the registration process, you need to go to the Registration page and follow these steps:

- Log in to your Science Conf account. If you don’t already have one, please create an account
- Fill out the registration form accurately
- Submit the registration form

Once you have finished, you will receive an automatic email confirming your registration request.

Submission

If you want to make an oral or poster presentation, you need to submit an abstract. You must first register for the conference (see paragraph above). Then, go to the New submission page. You will have to download the abstract model and complete it. Then you will be able to upload it to the website.

Abstract model: JED2026_Name_Abstract.docx

After your submission, you will receive an automatic email confirming the receipt of your abstract. We will inform you at the end of April whether your abstract has been accepted or not.

Oral presentations

If you have submitted an abstract for an oral presentation and your contribution is selected, you will receive a confirmation email. The program will indicate the exact time and room where your talk will take place. You will have 10 minutes to present your work, followed by 5 minutes of questions from the jury and/or the public.

We ask you to structure your presentation as follows:

- General context and link with societal challenges
- Research question
- Description of your methodology
- Conclusion and initial results (if applicable)

A special emphasis will be placed on the accessibility and popularization of your research: your presentation should be accessible to a broad audience, as participants come from different scientific backgrounds and the jury will be composed of people who are not specialists in your research field.

Here are the jury's selection criteria, in order of importance:

- Quality of communication: capacity of popularisation, clarity of the slideshow, language skills (English mandatory)
Quality of presentation: general context, problematic, methodology and conclusion that address the problematic
Other: respect of time, answers to questions, interaction with the audience

You will also need to send us your slides in PDF format by email before the event (date to be confirmed). Please avoid making your slides too busy, as the presentation screens will be small.

Poster presentations

If you are presenting a poster, it must be prepared in A0 portrait format and printed by you.

You will be able to display your poster once you have collected your badge, before the plenary sessions begin. During each break, presenters are expected to stand by their poster to discuss their work.

Prizes

At the end of the day, the jury will deliberate to award prizes for oral presentations. For posters, the public will have to vote using an online application. There will be 1 oral presentation prize per thematic panel, as well as 4 poster prizes. Winners will receive FNAC gift cards worth €200.

Feel free to interact with the invited speakers and guests, and to ask questions during the lectures.

Enjoy the day!
